Bush administration accuses critics of class warfare: "those of you with class have no right to make fun of those of us who have none"
The Bush administration tried to get a jump on critics of Bush's new "Stimulus" plan today by accusing them of class warfare. Bush is upset that classy people would criticize his plan, which reportedly emphasizes tax cuts for the wealthy.
White House spokesman Ari Fleischer says classy people "think they're all that" and don't give unclassy people like the President a chance. "Classy people spend all day reading stuff and calling PBS pledge drives. They're just full of themselves."
Fleischer says unclassy people must fight back. "If your house has twelve Grecian columns and a gold mailbox, your lifestyle is under threat. If you think art only looks good in an eight-inch thick ornate gold frame, your lifestyle is under threat. If you are currently in possession of a gold-plated Land Rover, Hearst Edition, your lifestyle is under threat. Now is the time to band together and kick the bejeezus out of classy people."
When asked if this constitutes class warfare, Fleischer said: "Class warfare can only be initiated by classy people. I have absolutely no class whatsoever."
