About Pesky the Rat's intended audience

Hello there, parents. As agent and manager to Pesky the Rat, I'd like to clarify Pesky's intended audience.

When I first started this weblog, I thought my audience would mostly consist of adults. However, something about colorful pictures of bug-eyed fuzzy animals attracted quite a number of young people to the site. I consider Pesky the Rat to be roughly PG-13, and I don't personally think reading this web site would harm a child in any way.  However, some of the time I do link to sites that, while hysterically funny, clever and intriguing, are most definitely not meant for young children.  This is the nature of the web; if your child is viewing a perfectly safe site, they are still only two or three clicks away from something more adult. It's up to you to insure your children use the internet well. I personally advocate giving kids more freedom than less, but monitoring closely how they use it.

If you are a kid, remember, never give your real name or address to anyone you meet online without talking to your parents first. Even if your parents are geeky and seriously unhip. Behind that clueless exterior, they may have excellent intuition about these things.  Above all, though, think for yourself. Don't believe everything you read, particularly if it comes out of the mouth of Janet the Snake. The internet is full of cats and snakes, and they are very good at covering themselves up.

Finally, I reserve the right to write anything I please on these pages. The political perspective should be fairly obvious. If you are offended by Pesky's dislike for certain feline policies, you are welcome to read endless Garfield comics until you throw up.
